WILMINGTON — The tables are ready, the silver is shined, and the steaks are in the cooler at a new restaurant in Wilmington.
Opening night is fast approaching for Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in downtown Wilmington.
It is part of a $10 million renovation at the Hilton Riverside Hotel, and while there are other steakhouses in Wilmington, this is the first national chain to locate downtown.
From the kitchen to the dining room, Steve DeCastro hopes his restaurant is part of a growing downtown Wilmington.
Employees are training and getting the steakhouse ready, before a series of pre-opening VIP parties Friday and Saturday nights.
The restaurant opens to the public Monday night with a staff of nearly 100 standing by.
The steakhouse hopes to donate $15 thousand to the Special Olympics from their opening night’s proceeds.
That’s a partnership Ruth’s Chris hopes to continue.
